Austin!!!

My wonderful mother and I spent the day in austin!!! We went to the auction, and bought nothing! (and now that im home im kinda wishing I had! ugh)
Then we had lunch at Casa de Luz which was wonderful I completely recommend it!!! It was my first time there and let me tell you it was awesome!!! Its not your typical dining experience,
"Each day, macrobiotic chefs at Casa de Luz produce animal free, nutrient-rich organic meals for health conscious individuals"
It was a very unique place and I will definitely stop by next time im in austin! If you arent willing to give up meat for one meal then dont go but if you are into health food or adventurous then it would be a fun stop for you, it is a very neat community.
And because we were so close of course I had to stop at half price books. Ah how easily books part me from my money! but its such a magical place!!
and then we headed home...during rush hour 8\ that part sucked!!! (but I took 317 to waco so I was able to skip 35s rush hour at least {which sucks almost as bad as austin})
so all in all it was a very productive day
again if you are in the area of austin tx go to Casa de Luz it was very cool
side note: I also saw tobias's (arrested development) doppelganger at de luz!!! hes asian, who knew?









delicious little clouds!

The marshmallows turned out wonderfully!!!  They were a huge success and im so happy with them!  I still havent made that hot chocolate yet but I think Im going to do that today (should be delicious!).  Well thats it sorry its so short, I dont have much time and just wanted to say that they turned out soooo soooo good, even better than I imagined!

Epic Fail!!!

Im going to jump right in with an epic fail! woohoo ding ding ding ding we have a winner!
I attempted to make marshmallows today and proceeded to burn the shit out of the sugar!!!! ah how i amaze even myself.  This wasnt a regular burning, oh no that would be to easy.  This was an all or nothing burning!  My house will smell like disgusting burnt sweetness for at least a month.
But was I discouraged? oh no, not I.  I buckled down and made a second batch, which came together very nicely!!!  Tomorrow morning will tell for sure but I think I just might have made the perfect marshmallows, lol jk but I do think they will be wonderful! like I went up to heaven and brought back a cloud...
mhmm...I just had a very happy moment.  I was sad about the cold weather thats headed our way but now im looking forward to a nice homemade cup of hot chocolate with some yummy yummy homemade marshmallows!!! :D
